An inside joke about small shirts on dudes. I couldn't remember which shirt it was so I referenced the one off the Hot Topic website.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Gay people are just like straight people; worthy of love, justice, respect and equality as anybody else. To give the impression or say that looking 'gay' has a negative connotation serves no purpose but put down, demean, objectify and oppress a large group of people. People that may be your neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family. Please keep that in mind. The messages and PSAs from the "Think before you Speak" ad campaign might help.

Bahhhh! I had to re type this, because I kept saying things wrong.
I just don't like my bf wearing tight pony shirts. It looks bad. If he wears an MLP shirt around my family, it looks bad him wearing a tight girly shirt as well as wearing it to my work. so I bought him a loose fitted shirt. I personally was not feeling the tight pony shirt either, he didn't look like a straight guy. I like my dudes straight. If I am in the mood and so is he, he will wear my school girl outfit for fun. Then we play dress up. It may be odd that I prefer the school girl outfit, but he wears that as jokingly and wanted to use the tight MLP in a serious matter when visiting friends, family, seeing me at work etc. And I told him this is what he looked like wearing it around people.
I know you say more offensive things to my bf and you joke to.
So if he was offended by the things I say, I wouldn't be dating him.

I don't remember any jokes being made against gays in this post. XD Some people take this stuff too seriously and are really sensitive and paranoid that everything that's done or said against a certain group is an attack against them. I respect homo-/bi-/pan-sexuals as much as I respect heterosexuals.
If you really do respect homo/bi/pansexuals as much as heterosexuals, then you wouldn't be making these "I look gay" and "that's so gay" statements in a negative context in the first place.
As for "some people take this stuff too seriously" and "everything is an attack against them": it's not up to the people affected to not be offended, it's the speaker's responsibility to NOT BE offensive in the first place. Complaining that someone is offended at a statement that you made is like slapping someone in the face then saying afterward, "Ouch, poor me, I hurt my hand hitting you." Personally, I'm not offended; I've developed a thick skin for this sort of stuff over the years. But I am annoyed that it's 2013 and we're still using the term 'gay' in a negative context.
Light, I know you are more intelligent that this, please think before you speak next time; if you really wanted to point out how you looked in this shirt, why not use other adjectives, like: silly, strange, stupid, ridiculous, weird, dorky? We don't have to use an identifier for a group of people (gay) in a negative context to get a point across. It displays ignorance and carelessness. It's the same reason why we should not use the term "that's retarded" to mean that something's bad, because real mentally challenged people and their families take offense to that.

I don't have anything wrong with gay people. I just thought the MLP shirt looked too tight. It's a MLP shirt and he was wearing it around my family. They kept telling me that my bf looked very gay in it. It wasn't attractive seeing him wear a tight ass shirt every where we went. So I had to get him a xl MLP shirt so it wouldn't look that bad. So I joke around with him telling him he looked gay.
These are jokes I joke around with my bf.
He obviously is not offended by it and if he was we wouldn't be dating him.
