I fucking love birdo, she's the most adorable character in the entire mario series (or any game series, even) an anti-hero, stylish, with a creative design (and a big red bow, I love bows!)

On the right is my old Birdo plush from 2008's line of Mario Party plushes, until now she was the only birdo plush you could get. On the left is my brand new ADORABLE birdo plush from san-ei 2013 I can't believe the quality and how much like the real Birdo she looks :D As you can see they've done one hell of a good job getting her likeness better, the colours and design are spot on. Between them is my tiny 1.5 inch birdo figure, just for a size comparison.

I love everything to do with Birdo, regardless of whatever stuff people come out with online about her, ever since I first played Super Mario Bros 2 I've been obsessed! Whats not to love about a bright pink dinosaur with a big red bow and ofcourse, the massive perma O-shaped mouth


Also, to curve the ammount of 'DUH BURDOH IS A GUY DUMBASS' comments, I think debating the idea of a none-existent character's gender is insignificant. Due to one translation error over 20 years ago its spawned a great deal of unnecessary controversy. The Japanese love the idea of poking fun/joking at cross dressers/sexual related things that in western eyes can be very offensive (see tanuki balls), so from the start there is already a rather large interpretation gap the character has had to cross. Nobody truly knows if the origins of Birdo are official or not (not even, it seems, NOA) and all I know is she's had 20 years of being called a girl, 20 years of female voice actors and such, I think its time people accepted the aptly named delightfully oddball character as she is and just enjoyed her.
