A few months ago, Abel DuSable made a few comments about how he thought the Lady Mouse in 'the Great Mouse Detective' was actually a complex character. Y'know, the way she worked the crowd and such.
Not having seen the movie in eons, I didn't really have a response to that.
Now, i own the movie. And now, I have a few comments for Abel. :)

Ohhhh Mercy.
I had to laugh at this one.
I suppose all of us fanboys (and fangirls) are guilty of this when they build upon a one-shot or throwaway character in a film when they appeal to them. And of course such appeal does often begin with the physical asthetics of the character.

Hmm, I'd have to say that the waitress mouse was complex right out of the box, with no additional imagination added. She was nice and sweet to Basil and Dawson, but saw through their disguises immediately, reported them to the bartender, and served them drugged beer without turning a hair.
Alcohol, sex, drugs and attempted murder, all in one brief scene. What a fun movie!
