A fan over on DA had a neat idea to promote the Ratha's Creature graphic novel Kickstarter - draw a piece of fanart a day!
Like Yaran, Ratha's father, her mother Narir disappeared pretty quickly from the first book and all we know about her is that she found Ratha to be quite a handful. Here they are in a quiet moment, enjoying the cool of a riverbank on a warm day. I gave Narir vivd facial markings to hint that the coat pattern of her grand-daughter Thistle.

This is really lovely, and I like Narir's facial markings. It makes me wish that Narir hadn't been dropped out of the first book so quickly. Maybe someday, when I figure it out, I'll tell her story.
