I've been wanting to do something to get back into coloring so I can work on an art trade image that'll be quite involved color and texture wise. Rage, another artist on FA, uploaded a beautiful image of Ultraviolet's Azriel and that night after seeing it, I started this.
According to Ultraviolet's information, Azriel is an angel, here in his holy dragon form, banished from heaven. Though he does his best through various means to forget the past, I figure there are moments here and there where he remembers. The bright light here is meant to signify either his rememberance of his heavenly status or the passing notice of his former employer.
This is probably about as finished as this particular version of this image is likely to get. I didn't do it on the best of paper and actually like some of the impressionistic style I've had here and there on it.
EDIT: I resubmitted the image in the hopes that that would take care of the light band some people have reported seeing when viewing this image.

There's an interesting mood to the picture and the coloring is nice as i think. Very good job on the lights/shadows.
Oddly, i'm having minor issues viewing it in full view. About the lower 1/10 of the picture appear almost white wich is not the case in sized down view. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Ohh thats comming out soo micely hun, I really love it. Like I said before, the mood is just wonderful and you captured him in a moment very well :)
Though like a couple folks said above. In full view the file seems to have an odd band or such at the bottom kinda obscuring it :P

The more I look at this, the more he reminds me of Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca. I'm guessing it's the cigarette and the white shirt. I wanted to draw him with a more melancholic expression because I'm sure he experiences those moments.
I had a note from Jeremy Sunchild about the band and saw it like that at work but looking from two browsers here at home, I don't see the band. I have no idea why it's showing like that for some users.
