Nice work Chinny. Although, the upper torso looks a bit to 'squared' to the page in my opinion. Also the shield looks slightly out of line with where the hand should be. (It may be just me. Just thought I should throw in my two cents >>;)

I totally got schooled in how to pose swordpeople at the very end of working on this, apparently this is more of a katana pose than any kind of medieval sword pose. XD Learning things for the future! Buckler is strapped to arm rather than held in hand, though.

the sword and shield do look kinda weird but the armor is very well designed.

Nah, he's running. Stags have an odd springing gait. Found some refs of them running with only one or even no hooves on the ground at various points in the run cycle. XD
