The Scout Bomber Douglas (SBD-5) Dauntless was the U.S. Navy's most successful dive bomber of the Pacific War! In June of 1942, four formations of SBDs either badly damaged or sank four Japanese fleet carriers (three of them were taken out in a span of six minutes).

This shot was taken at the Luke Days airshow (Luke AFB, Arizona). The aircraft is one of only six airworthy examples within the United States. It belongs to the Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing.
