
The joke being that if they were a real cat and mouse, the cat could easily kill and eat the conveniently snack-sized mouse. But hey, I think sentience and opposable thumbs are a fair tradeoff....

Even more pronounced with an over-productive species. Say lion anthros kept their relative mass/muscle ratio in comparision to bunnies, they'd still be looking down the barrel of a billion bunny sharpshooters. Not to mention the lion being unarmed (if not declawed) after having blown his wad (of cash) at one of the various and sundry bunny strip shows that littered the town.
Hahaha.. nice. This equalization (and sometimes, as in this picture, OVER-equalization) effect is at its worst in the Ironclaw tabletop RPG, where characters can vary greatly in size but size is not affected in ANY way by species, so you could easily have a three-foot rhinoceros traveling with an eight-foot shrew.
