Nice dragon model! What's your rigging approach? Do you skin the mesh directly to the skeleton or do you use muscle deformation to drive the skin? I did played with Lightwave for a bit. I found that the modeling and rendering is really good. But the animation part of it a bit clunky to work with. Still, looking forward to the finished project.
Hopefully, in the Lightwave community, there has been ways found on how to do the muscle simulations and that it's posted on the net somewhere. I know Max and Maya has that ability built in but I also know how much work it is to learn another 3d ap and how much of a pain it would be to transfer one's art assets to another program. Though a compermize is to keep modeling in your native app and set up the animation and rendering on a 3d app that's better at animation. Whatever approach, it's the end result that counts.

The musle structure alown is awsome, but the happy look on his face coupled with thoes wcked looking claws just makes this cunning.. I'm not sure why I chose that word, it just fits.
I can hardly wate to see how you solved the trouble I alwasy have with the extrusion of the tail from the spine. I always have trouble with that for some reason.

The muscles and face are modeled awesomely! Just looks damn well!!! And the claws... I have to favorite it.
And regarding to animation/rigging/muscles...
There ARE muscle simulating software for 3dsmax and Maya, and they are quite simple to use (ACT Pro for example).
Haven't heard about anything for LightWave tho...
