My Fourth Tarot Card!!! (Woot)
And this one's for Sombie http://somberwolf.deviantart.com/ Awwee...
I decided to Do her as the Strength card instead of, say...The Empress, because frankly while researching the tarot I found that most of the other women cards aren't very, um...flatering. The Empress is technically just the consort of the Emporer, and Sombie dosen't want to be some hoe-bag consort...Right?
Well Anywho, About the Strength card....
History-
The card was originally named fortitude, to be a third to the Temperance and Justice card. The two rather constant images with the card are a lion and a lady, usually with the lady in the dominant position. The interpertation that I'm chosing to go with is that the lion would represent the "id" part of the mind and the lady the "higher" parts. And thus Strength is and internal battle of the mind.
What I've added-
Well I dun know about you, but I don't think a lion quite does the "id" justice... So I decided to make it a more fearsome creature. (And Sombie sure doesn't want to be butt-kicking a nifty lion). Also, Sombie is my lady in this, der... Cause, I started this silly project at her suggestion and she wanted to be a card too.... *Shrugs*
THat's it..hope ya Enjoy!!
