On the subject of cutting squares, I had a friend who had a pet cockatiel and envied my pet bird's clipped wings, so instead of doing it properly she cut them off so the wings looked like rectangles. Her dad blamed me and didn't let me come over for months because it looked so stupid. Friend stuck by the story of "idk who did it dad i promise"

It isn't uncommon for me to trim my dogs hair now and then.

I generally just cut a snippet away, so that his eyes are clear. Though considering that it's colder his coat is longer.
