I see much interesting potential here in the means of a story behind it, if you don't mind me sharing my thoughts?
What if she is an old kindred spirit that Aku allowed to ingest him to give youth back? Maybe that is a sorceress robe on her, an old 'witch' that would in turn reform the kindly 'yena.
