At some point during the Super Hornet demonstration, a Very high-speed pass results in a sound-barrier cone emanating from the jet. At sea levels, a speed of 768mph is required to break through the barrier. To give you an idea of how fast that is, imagine running at top speed and covering 1,126 ft in just one second!
The cone around the airframe doesn't remain constant. It will appear and disappear during the high-speed pass.
