And.. I also remember this game, gave me some of my most fun childhood nights ever, I truly will always remember the fun it gave me.
Now, art related, well I don't really know what to say, it's all very nice. I do like the small tail! It's pretty cute overall.. I do also really like the colors, but I always say that when there's such tones involved used in such a good way.

Can't really explain what I like about it, it's sort of the.. strange.. cartoonish feeling or something.

Yeah, I can see whatcha mean. You can always try adding shading cascading from the tips of each scale rather than on the left of them. But I think it looks just fine. Hope this idea becomes your next comic! :3
