He is a famous pony that can lasso anything. His claim to fame is he can lasso a Wonderbolt pony, only if they are close enough for him to reach. The Wonderbolt pony he caught was Soarin. He has a Texas accent and is very calm, but quick to react to situations. He is a little shy sometimes. He has also won a lot of blue ribbons for roping and lasso talent. He has a major crush on Apple Jack. He does carry with him a small apple tree in a pot that he tends to. It is a very rare and mysterious Star Apple Tree. Most ponies think it is some plant and that Roper is crazy thinking that it will grow star shaped yellow glowing apples. The tree does get bigger every year. He gets along with Big Mac and is often seen helping him tend to the apple trees. Roper does go out with Apple Jack and they live together. Apple Jack one day gets really mad and says some mean things to him and he gets his feelings hurt and ends up leaving Apple Jack. He ends up leaving his lucky rope and plant with her. After he is gone, Apple Jack gets so depressed about the horrible things she said to him and cries and wishes he would come back. The main 6 try to look for him and he seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Big Mac is mad at Roper for leaving his sister, but Apple Jack explains to him that what she said to him caused him to leave and he feels bad for Roper and his sister. At night, Apple Jack sometimes cries and usually snuggles with his lucky rope cause it has his scent and it reminds her of him. One night Apple Jack had a dream about Roper and couldnt sleep and cried when suddenly Roper's apple tree started to bloom and these little strawberry sized glowing yellow star shaped apples appeared. She ate one and it was like nothing she had ever tasted. She picked them and stored them into a jar and then decides to keep them a secret. Apple Jack later on ends up almost falling off a cliff during an adventure with her friends and at the last minute, Roper appears out of nowhere and saves her life. After the close call, she apologizes to him and he forgives her and feels so bad for disappearing. She ends up marrying him. Apple Jack loses her hat a few times and ends up taking his till either one find it. They both plant his tree and it starts to blossom and grow. Apple Jack reveals to him the tree does make some strange apples. She picked some and made a jam with them. The trees blooms once a year when there are shooting stars.
