Looking at some photo albums today and found this photo among others like it. Its been a solid 10 years since me and my dad had finished restoring the Skylark, I breathed in enough bondo dust to last me a lifetime. haha
As much as I love all her bloo and shiny, a front bumper, and a trunk floor, I somehow miss the good old days. Large gaping rust holes, cardboard boxes put over the gas tank for our grocieries, front plate hanging just by a metal wire, and must of all, my dad slamming the door on my pinky finger, 4 times.
Hard stuff is long done, but its still got things I need to do before she's officially complete. Trim, more carb work, needs new tires and a battery, and possibly new fuel lines, I'll probably leave the gas tank for last.

those sound like very fond memories indeed! lol I can't help but think of the 66 Impala I'm trying to pick up and restore. It's going to be a lot of work but I know it will be well worth it!! that looks like a heck of a lot of work went into getting that car looking new again, and I can totally understand your warm reminiscing of the days when the car was still damaged. It kinda gives the car personality; character in a way. But good work to you and your folks for restoring this old classic!!
