And my first airsoft gun, the Dan & Wesson 6".
Unlike others, from what I read, it's not a replica of a real weapon, even if Dan & Wesson is a gun manufacturer, more like a revolver-type gun.
It's big, it's cool, it's classy and it has real cartridges for more realism, unlike a lot of airsoft revolvers. The drawback is of course, to have much fewer BBs to fire before reloading but you'll have style reloading your cartridges one by one or with a speedloader, and then put the cylinder back in a yank of your wrist (I tried, it works well when you know how to do it).

No idea for the field as there isn't one nearby, plus, I bought it more for the look and the fact it's probably the only available brand where I live that allows you to use fake cardridges, but the reviews I have seen say it's not the best, but it's still good. And there is a silver version, as well as a few size for the cannon.
I've been looking into the Dan Wesson's for a while, but I still think it's nice to have someone to discuss it with. :p
And if you want to play on a field, you could always look on local forums and such for local groups that just play places. I found one on facebook that has served me pretty well. :p

Oh, I know, there is even a national website that makes list of various stuff, including the possible fields, the airsoft websites with reviews from the members, etc... but I really buy the guns for the looks. Besides, for now, I lack the gaz canisters and filling bottles to make the non-electric ones work. ^^
The Dan Wesson is very snazzy and so far, the only noticeable drawback I've found is the cylinder is a bit too close to the grip when in the open position making one cardridge more difficult to expel without a yank of the wrist or using your fingers to remove it.
