Lori is a human that was chosen by a symbiote (think Venom from SpiderMan). Instead of the symbiote covering her whole body with it's elastic squishy body, it keeps her scantily covered and uses the bulk of it's mass to form a tail appendage for her. The tail has a mind of its own, and though it links up with Lori psychically they retain separate personalities. She is generally shy and unwilling to indulge in the more animalistic and predatory desires of her new partner. The symbiote mass can shape shift and form one long thick tail or a nest of longer thinner tendrils or anything it desires. Neither Lori or the symbiote are powerful separately but when joined are an interesting formidable foe(ally?)

Her tail (and to an extent Lori) feed and survive off of others life-force/energy. So energy vore/encasement sorta stuff here ;D
