10 x 14 color pencil (this will be a full body piece)
This is my first bovid( ;) ), and was a species suggested to me by one of my favorite artists whom, by chance, just happens to do the most awesome oryx.(among other things). This piece is going fast and I should be on the back ground this weekend.
Oh, man, I've been enjoying doing this guy!
Will scrap after next WIP post.

Gemsbok! :D
Who was the suggester - Keedot? Besides me and her, I don't know of many people whose online personas are oryxes.
Also, nitpicky point: oryxes aren't cervines; they're antelope, which are bovids. Cervines have antlers (which fall out and grow back annually) while bovids have horns (which are permanent), among other things :)

Thank you for the correction of the cervine / bovid faux pas. I was a bit confused on that point. I now understand and will fix it. :)
ECMajor suggested I do an oryx a couple months ago. He has several great oryx pieces in his gallery. And a fursuit shot of one of his fursonas with an oryx. not sure which one he's in.
This will not be my last gemsbok! They're beautiful critters and I'm so glad he made the suggestion! Female next, probably along the lines of a shaman.
