Poor thing :(
I love yellyfishs (if I am not in the same water as they XD).
The yellysishs in germany are not that colorfull, but somethimes they lie around the whole beach too.

Ohhhhh man blue bottles D; Gorgeous but damn do they hurt. I had one wrap around my leg as a child while swimming and all I remember is the pain and red marks XD

That thing is really quite adorable. Have you ever considered gathering one up, dropping it in a tank of salt water and occasionally throwing in some live goldfish?

I think it is not as straight forward to keep since it uses the wind to sail and such. The absence of that might have some unknown effects.

I don't really think that would do the trick because if I remember correctly they can actually modify the shape of their sail hence my questioning about how to care for them.

Though... when i think of it they need the wind to move. Since they'd be in a small area with a ready food supply it might not be an issue.

This might be a comparison that doesn't really float but if we put you in a seat and only feed you it will get unhealthy pretty fast. But then again I tend to overthink things a lot.

Yea. But I have a vascular system and gravity works on that and the chair. In water it's different, and Man-o-wars are a non-vascular colonial cereature.

I've had a bit of a look into it and it seems that their tentacles can reach 70 meters in length. And if the need arises it can sink itself and resurface later when it is save at the surface again. Also they seem to trek around in fleets, sailing the open oceans. That would mean one hell of a tank to keep them in.

They're Blue Bottles.

I have been stung by one once. all I remember is the pain.

They wash up on Australian beeches every year, sometimes in such numbers that the beach literally turns blue.
