(If you like this picture you can COMMISSION ME!)
Finally, some actual freaking drawings of my own! And something of my own that also I spent actually more than an extended lunch break's worth of time on too. Think the last time I drew my Mewthree, Mewblade that was actually new work, that wasn't a 3D model and that wasn't a piece influenced by someone else was in early October, so more than 4 months ago. And then what do I do? I end up posting a black and white picture, not in my standard style, and in a really uncharacteristic pose and theme for her. Go figure.
Had this pose lying around since September in this giant sketchbook of gestures I have. Went back through the book and thought the pose to again be uncharacteristic, but to be very pretty. Liked the concept too so figured I'd give it a go: Mewblade, my favorite jewel amongst my sea of characters, covered in more precious stones. Gives me an excuse to doll her up too. Those who don't know 'her' (she's of no gender), Mewblade waltzes around with 18 titanium sickles and 2 scythes protruding from her metal skeleton. The ends are a well-honed black diamond (more like an translucent carbonado), which just based on precious metal and stone, physically, she is my most expensive character probably followed by Zel (gold components) and Vicebane (platinum components).
Drawing wise, slightly different approach to the character, but not much. Background came about after a realization I had no idea what to fill it with, so thus framed it out ala art nouveau style (though done traditionally), just with less flowers. The only flowers I put in are based after one of these Victoria Secret Floral Fantasy Bra's, where the most recent one comes with a belt of sorts. Otherwise kept the elements to either represent the diamonds, or the jewellery, with a few of the curves being dominated with a slightly more artsy representation of her scythe for good measure. Vexations are that I didn't reflect across the dividing line well when it came to the background and that I made her hips too large. I have no real intention of coloring this picture. Wasn't my aim to begin with.
(Still keeping my commissions closed at the moment since I'm working on my own mood boosting art.)
Pens.
