Wow, it's been forever since I did anything with water colours. I officially suck at it. This is another piece based on a reference photo kindly provided by a collague, just like the macaque monkey I did before Christmas. I hope he like the turtle...

Thanks! I have another water colour project planned, once I've recovered from this one. ^_^ it would actually be really nice to take a couple of days of holiday for the express purpose of learning to pain with water colours properly.

Having different media to play with is a good idea, I think. Especially for us creative types. I recently went and bought myself some super sculpey to try and finally get back into making clay stuff again. It's a little easier to work than 3D stuff.

It's fun, but also frustrating when I find that I suck at various things. Funnily enough people at work loved this painting and the colleague who provided the reference, to whom I gifted the original, went and got it framed during his lunch break. Also got requests from colleagues to draw another turtle and a penguin.

Those flippers nearly killed me! But I may well end up doing more water colour work sometime in the near future. ^_^
