The expressions--I've seen this EXACT situation with humans.
Mom's listening; skeptical but still open to all the angles.
Stradiva; idealistic about compassion and kindness.
Stray Nik; not hopeful about her chances. Damaged goods. She could succeed with the appropriate help; life of crime and/or early death without it.
Mom should be wearing pearls.

My image of myches is mostly influenced by Sartre's character. He does seem rather cold and Vulcan-like.
But I thought some would be more...expressive? Self-indulgent? Light-hearted?
