To be honest, the original line in its original context makes zero sense to me, as someone who knows what it means. Even though they were driving in a car, they say something that literally translates as "Up! Up! Forward Forward!" (at least based on how you quoted it, I remembered it being in the opposite order, but still), which implies that their car is going to take off into the air and fly, rather than just drive faster (which, by the way, would sound more like "Rapido! Rapido" ("Fast! Fast!"). )
Could be British slang, we do use quite a bit of theirs, but I guess it's the accent that makes it... Addictive, it would seem. X3
Stone the bloody crows, didn't think using my native tongue for a spell would get so many peoples' knickers in a knot. :B
That's all I can manage at 2am. The anklebiter's asleep already.

Nah, I know a LOT of hispanic people and they're not all Mexican. Some are Puerto Rican and some Cuban, I've also worked with some Spaniards (they had tempers, lemme tell ya...). I had a Peruvian dude for my anthropology class once, too. Doesn't matter who's what, as long as they're good people, I'm good
Ah I see....though there are over a million Mayan people in Mexico, so maybe there is still a bit of Mesoamerica there :)
though I think saying all Mexicans wear sombreros and have moustaches is like saying all Japanese people are kawaii and have bubble-gum coloured hair and all their school girls have magic powers :o

I honestly can't remember if I have even seen someone from mexico who is overweight. Come to think of it I can't remember seeing a person who is concidered overweight who are of that origin that live in the US either. Thats a odd stereotype. The sand one I guess people would get from all the movies they see.
Awesome, then I will look out for when you open commissions.

i usually default to mexican with spanish, but only because it's the only spanish-speaking culture we had near me growing up in SoCal. then i met
and at least try to find out what culture they are from and such. :) Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, etc. (or in rarer cases, Spanish or Italian where i'm at in US.)
very adorable piece thuogh buddy :)

Its so interesting how people will change their mental picture of you when you tell them your heritage. I told a friend of mine i was half Mexican once and a few years later he told me he always envisioned me as a short, chubby, Mexican guy and I'm just sitting there thinking "Oh you dumb motherfucker." For some reason it is even worse when they start to fetishize you because they have a certain perception about your heritage and the freaky things you might like to do. Que Lastima, siempre hay pendejos en este mundo.
Nope. Ceviche.
Seriously though, most people don't understand that heritage and ethnicity are not always obvious. I think i read somewhere that Louis CK is Mexican, along with Mit Romney's dad. Stereotypes, am i right? I'm a white mexican and i hear people say the stupidest shit whenever i tell them my heritage. Actually, i remember once a white classmate literally, jokingly, asked me if my family was illegal or if i crossed a border. Swear to god sometimes.

Yes, another very good reason why education is good. I mean, that's a significant lack of thinking, did they think you had access to a computer and art tools but not a phone? Such bullshit goes from the harmless lack of understanding to full blown racism. What a time to be alive right?
When someone speaks Spanish or says they are Mexican, I don't imagine anything in particular, except perhaps if they say that are an immigrant from Mexico I imagine that there hometown must have been at least partially turned into a barren desert if they would leave home to come here.
But when I hear "Mexican clothing" spoken on its own, then stereotypes start pinging (silently in my head, since I try to be polite).
But what imagine is not a sombrero, or a mustache. What I imagine are those super colorful flowy dresses and robes that I see at ceremonial dance showcases. Is that weird?

Something similar happens to me when I tell someone I'm living in Spain... They think I would be eating paella or potato omelet once a week or something, or even that I'm into toreros and corridas. It's a bit weird, knowing how I love and respect animals, I suppose they don't know me at all... XD
I am an Englishman who drinks tea all the time and often chats about the weather, but never wore a bowler hat nor really enjoyed football. I am a partial stereotype.
Your picture makes me really keen to dance the Mexican hat dance, though!
Dah-dah-dahdilly-dahdilly-dah-dah, Dah-dah-dahdilly-dahdilly-dah-dah...
