This is a tribute to a wonderful little book called "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Richard Bach, about a seagull's quest for perfection. It was always one of my dad's favorite books, so this will go to him. And hopefully you can also tell that I was very heavily inspired by art nouveau and the artwork of Alphonse Mucha -- I definitely didn't do his style justice, but it was a fun attempt! And I love working with pastels and a limited color palette. The wing anatomy is a little strange, I stylized it a bit too much, whoops. The original also has that tan paper border going all the way around, but my scanner refuses to pick that up, oh well...
