It's fitting that it was made by the same shop that came up with the original Bigfoot. But what sucked is the fact that the time I am there for the last demonstration of the day they can't get it going.
Typical of my luck and doesn't say much for the battery manufacturer that supplied the batteries. That Odyssey sponsorship in on the back.
Taken at the 2013 World of wheels in Kansas City.

Here's the deal, Clear Channel Entertainment (Owner of Monster Jam, Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, PACE, SFX, USA Motorsports, MEG, and other entities, including many other monster trucks that ran in it's events) has sold it's motorsports division to Feld Entertainment. Feld Entertainment now runs all of the motorports events related to Monster Jam, Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, etc.
In other words, Dennis Anderson sold out and the Grave Digger marketing rights are the property of Feld Entertainment and Clear Channel before that.
In the begginning of the Monster Jam events, Bob Chandler didn't want to sell out to Clear Channel since he's the inventor of the Monster Trucks. A legal battle ensued over TV/Video rights. Therefore, BIGFOOT does not participate in Monster Jams or any Feld Entertainment events.
It's a shame as the Monster Jam events seem to be the most covered, mainstream event.

Bigfoot is still around. It's just that the truck isn't on the big network show Monster Jam. You have to hit the thunder nationals events and 4 wheel jamboree type events. Or something like this I caught on video a couple years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv2oM-ZjnRo
A few of there trucks run with this group: http://badboysofracing.com/ but I will hold my tongue on what I think of them.
I just watched the video of it on youtube. It's cool and all they were able to engineer it to be electric. I'm all for electric cars as daily drivers, utility vehicles, transit vehicles, and freight movers.
Though, it's just not the same.... Most of the excitement comes from the noise. It's like watching fireworks without the bang.
Maybe they'll be more exciting when they're up to speed and hitting jumps. ....but I'm not so sure. Hearing the sound of those big, supercharged, V8s echoing throughout the stadium is hard to beat.
Even at car shows people crowd around a vehicle that has started up and is revving its engine. The car's not even moving! People are mesmerized just by the sound.
This reminds me of when a class at some high school replaced the V8 engine in a T-bucket with an electric motor....

Gotta give them credit for trying something new,
but seriously- an electric monster truck?
NO THANKS. What are we trying to achieve fuel economy or something? The whole idea behind a monster truck- It's a huge loud alcohol burning car crusher that goes off jumps and has thousands of horsepower, pretty sure MPG aren't that important for such a purpose built vehicle...
It's totally cool that they were able to create such a thing and pull it off and to have it work fairly well (with the exception of it not running while you were there but a normal engine could experience trouble unexpectedly as well). And I'm sure they were just doing it for exactly that reason so my rant is kind of unwarranted, but I'm just so sick of all the radical changes they're making to modern vehicles lately all for the sake of fuel economy. If someone wants a fuel efficent car they can go get one, these days people have that option; leave the trucks and sports cars out of it.
