This took some time to do, but I did it. I figured Jay needed some slight update to his design. So, I added some "spikes" and more hair. Haven't decided if I want the hair to go down his back and tail, or let the hair on his head and tail stay separate. Probably the former. I might make some more slight changes, but at the moment, this is fine.

I originally was going to make Jay into an Eastern/Western hybrid, but when I drew the whiskers, they didn't seem right on him. Might be just me. Almost all the Easterns I've seen on FA are usually bulky (in muscle and/or fat), with the exception of maybe one or two.

Oh, and that's supposed to be fur on his collar. Oddly enough, Squall from FF8 didn't inspire me to do it...at first. XD

The hands, especially his left one gave me trouble. Might need to try and find better reference. There are a few other things that bug me like the line on his shoe (my fault), and the size the shoes in general (too big?). I did try a slightly different style of beginning my drawing, starting with the torso instead of the head and using mainly shapes. Took a while, but I kind of like it.

I might try to ink this later on. I got some Sakura Micron and FaberCastel pens that I hardly have used.
