It didn’t take long to get to arrive to the Mine, though it had gotten considerably darker as the night went on. Grey scanned the large yard in front of the giant man-made cave, it was certainly larger than he would’ve thought; with many small buildings for storing machinery and valuable minerals. It took a while to spot the area Leaf had told him about while they traveled across the city; it was a giant rectangular hole with some sort of metal fence surrounding the edge.
“I see it; let’s go before anyone still around catches sight of us.” The Gallade said as he sled down the steep sides of the huge hole the yard sat in. “You think they would have more humans protecting this area” Leaf noted while floating down besides Grey. “We aren’t safe yet… we still need to sneak over without being seen by anyone.”
Grey crouched low, moving lightly so to not be heard; he knew humans had ways of seeing in pure darkness, he couldn’t take a chance after getting so close to a possible source of information.
It was easier than expected to sneak past the few guards that were milling about, mostly thanks to the piles of dirt and rocks that littered the mine. It took Grey a moment to realize that the hole was actually more of a cage or ‘habitat’ found in a zoo. The fence was taller than the others around the yard, and certainly looked more like they were keeping someone or something in, rather than out. He could hear Leaf land and gasp softly as she peered into the small enclosure,
“I see something; it looks blue… and very sharp.” Well that could fit quite a few mons in description,
“I guess we are gonna need to get a closer look to see what exactly it is then” Grey said, he leaped over the fence; landing on the dirt that lined the bottom.
It was strange to see grass and rocks in the container; it was almost as if it was more of a playground rather than a space to keep unruly pokemon. Though it had many scratches scattered about the rocks and dirt that made up the enclosure. They all looked like the gashes were caused by melting rather than a normal scratch, definitely the work of a poison type. It would definitely explain what Leaf had said about the humans using that new type of mining. The poison would dissolve rock but leave metals and such completely intact, at least that was the concept.
“Uh, Grey… I can’t seem to find anymon in here; you think it might not be here anymore?” Leaf whispered, she was keeping really close to the gallade, not wanting to be alone should anymon sneak up on her.
It was the movement from the rocks that caught the gallade’s attention, as he turned to the pile of rocks closest to him he could see that it was a nidorina perched on one of them; a poisonous fist raised threateningly at him.
“State your business stupid human, unless you want to give me a reason to melt your arm off…”
