Dark Crystal, thats a good oldie. But they didnt exactly Kill the gelflings* (not elves) they just kidnapped them.

It was mentioned that they DID kill the Gelflings, but not all of them-certain numbers were taken to Skeksis so that their essence can be drained from them.

Suppose your right. Still they were mindless servants, they really cant be blamed.

That movie both creeped me the FUCK out, and was also my favorite thing ever.

That was both the greatest movie and creepiest movie from my childhood.

How can one forget the Dark Crystak xD did you know there was a planned sequel that was canceled?

Well actually, I'm kinda glad. I looked at the ideas for a plot, and... it was very, very weak :C I'm sure if they spent more time it would have been better, but the current sucked :C

:O Garthem! I loved those things

The creatures were called Garthim and they were the servants/slavers of the Skeksis. In olden times when the numbers of Gelflings were great, the Skeksis would send out the Garthim to enslave/capture the Gelflings. Through the power of the Dark Crystal, the Skeksis would drain the life essence out of the Gelflings and use that elixir to extend their lives. The only problem was the elixir's power was very limited and would only last a short period of time and due to that short glimpse into their youth, the Skeksis hunted the Gelflings to what was believed extinction. With the belief that no more Gelflings remained in their world the Garthim were made to follow new orders and were sent to guard the Castle of the Skeksis.

You sir, are now one of my FA heroes! I love Dark Crystal to this day, and actually just watched it last weekend. The garthem are still awesome, especially how they fall apart! And while stoned, the movie is just as creepy and unnerving as it was the first time I saw it. I think I was like 5. Great work! I faved this by the time you read this.
