Was walking in our local "polder" where we found this dead buzzard laying next to the road.
he was in perfect condition exept for the fact he was dead.
So, why not stuff it, its a shame to let a beautiful bird like this rot away.
so, I went to my local museum and asked if I could taxerdermise this with a professional.
This is the result, a beautiful buzzard in perfect condition.
This way we still can enjoy the beauty of this magnificent creature.
--Attention--
This is a dead animal, I know,
Ive preformed autopsy on this animal (I'm VET trained) and this is a young male bird (under 1 year old) and died of hunger (it had bite injuries on the head, including a gash just below the eye).
--so-- it hasn't been shelled / shot or hailed to death, it died naturaly

yeah, well, i think its a bit hypocrism.
its dead, and some people go all emo over that fact is just sad.
especially when they eat meat (i am not going to explain how they kill pigs or cows, as it is worse than shot to death)
Myself, I'm a big fan of taxerdermy, as you can still enjoy the animals, even if they are dead.
I get my animals from the animal ambulance, as they take care of roadkills and that.

Indeed. Just relax a little bit ;)
This looks like an extremely good job indeed. I would not know how to work with birds without messing the feathers or worse.
Language barrier here. When you say "asked if I could taxerdermise this with a professional." Do you mean you just handed it to be prepared, or that you received instructions and help to do it?

Good work then. Every detail counts, and the result looks very lively specially if it did come with some head damage.
Hehe. No problem. Just wait and bite any read impaired critique *if* they come ;)
First one I uploaded, I labeled it as "mature" for those reasons, which was an error since -as I was reminded- photographs are supposed to be nothing but "general". Duh!
