So part of why I've not updated is this little guy decided to come 6 weeks early. Lots of worry and hospital time later he's home and doing amazing. His name is Vale Mycroft Supergan. He doesn't have to change anything to fit into furry. :3
Here is a link to the journal on gluten intolerance, http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4336303/
How the picture and post are related is that one of the most traumatic and saddening symptoms of gluten intolerance is infertility and miscarriage, both of which my wife had suffered through. A month after going gluten-free this little bun started cooking in my wife's oven. :3

Furry is a hobby/interest to me. Not a lifestyle. Nothing in my life is different because I am a furry aside from my vacation choices. I would feel the same way if I were into Star Trek. Hope he shares my interests. :D
THAT'S TERRIBLE PARENTING
I really hope you're joking, cause if not you don't need to have a child I'm sorry
make it grow up like a normal kid and not some weird furfag that everyone will make fun of
fucking come on
think about the SHIT it could go through because of you doing that
I hate kids but goddamn I have more sense than that
I'M WICKED AWESOME YO, AND NOW I'M COOL AS WELL.
you don't know if it's gonna want to even be a furfag like it's parents, you can't make someone into something they're not and/or don't even want to be
remember that.
The fact is, if you wanted to take your logic to it's most logical conclusion via Occams razor, ANYone having kids is instantly a bad parent because there are all kinds of horrible people that are part of the human race. According to your very own logic, no one should have a kid ever because they might end up exposed to all the horrible things humans do to each other every single day.
I'm not just talking really out there messed up stuff, i'm talking about things like-oh, say-people being rude and hateful in the comments section of a journal announcing what should be a celebrated event, the birth of a new life despite the overwhelming odds against it.
Folks like you. So maybe, instead of focusing on telling these folks to keep their kid out of the fandom because of all the really negative people in it you focus on not being one of those people?
be putting
their kid
in the "fandom"
wait until the goddamn kid grows up to see if they want to or not
it's really stupid for them to do that
but whatever, I just hope the kid doesn't get screwed over.
The mother seems to be the only one with a decent amount of sense to be honest.
and me being "a talented artist" has absolutely nothing to even do with this, so I don't even understand why you would bother adding that onto this.
honestly
I don't think anyone should have a child in the world we are in right now, on a second note
what I'M WORRIED about, is the kids who may find out if this furry stuff gets piled onto them, and thinking about how much they could get hurt and bullied for it, because I know exactly how kids are. I've dealt with that kind of shit before, hell I used to get bullied just for the fact that I would draw all the time.
Think of what it would be like if a kid found out about the furry shit, just THINK about the possibilities, they're endless on what kids can come up with and do to make the child feel terrible.
NOW, if the child decides THEMSELVES on being in this 'fandom" then okay, cool. I just don't like seeing parents shove things onto the child, that's all I'm saying.
and now I'm done with this, I've said what I needed to.
I think in today's world there is no avoiding bullying and being made fun of. After all of that, I dealt with a broken household, no friends, depression, suicidal behaviors, OCD, ADHD, no one to talk to, shyness, etc. But I did get hypnotherapy and seeked help in 2003, since 2004 i've been perfectly fine, social, happy, and my well being is good in general. All that really matters in the end is how much you love yourself and making friends who share the same hobbies, which can be any type of hobbies that develop, true to the heart rather than faking interests in what people enjoy.
I don't agree with forcing someone into a hobby of any sort, but, yeah, I shrugged about that. Just saying..
This poster has ran their mouth off without justification, and has had appropriate and patient responses given, but they have not backed down. Anyone coming on here now (like me) can see what is going on. Nothing you say from this point will make a difference, and it will only invite further provocative, malicious comments from them, which no one deserves to have said about them. Whatever their issue is, I doubt it will be resolved here, and it's time to 'let it go', as it were.
That's just my take on it, FWIW. Feel free to ignore.
As for his name it is old English for Valley, Mycroft is the older and wiser brother of Sherlock Holmes - literary nod to a great series - and his last name is well his, mine, his fathers, his grandfathers, aunts, and so on, so he can deal with that until he's 18. It's similar to Collin which is Gaelic for dove, or any other names that have a meaning that has been forgotten due to languages, age or use. It also is not common and allows him more individual identity than say naming him Geoffrey or Bryan.
at least I can see the mother has some sense in this matter, and I'm really really happy about that.
he seems like the person who would force their kid into doing something and becoming something they really don't want to be, which is why I got angry.
As long as it has a good mother, who also has plenty of sense and cares, then thats really great and I'm happy
just
please be careful with it and don't try to make it something its not
you'll regret it later if you do
That fact that you're willing to love your kid no matter what and that you obviously want to take care of him as best you can and appreciate how lucky you are and appreciate how wonderful he is makes me wish i'd had a parent like you in my life. Screw these haters. I don't even get why they're here if they hate the fandom that much.
You just keep being you and doing what you do and don't let ANYone give you shit about it. I wish you and yours the best man. Thank you for all the effort you've put into this journal and for giving a shit about your fellow human beings.
I can only imagine this life thing just got real for you XD.
