It can compel toon hos to obey with the power of blunt-force trauma.
This is a Leki Sierra Photo hiking staff/monopod. But I did make the knob and wrist strap. I thought the wooden knob that covers the camera mount was so boring and the standard strap was too plain and flappy.
The knob is covered in metallic polymer clay. This was my first try at doing a mica shift effect. The pattern didn't wrap around the surface perfectly but still worked out okay over the top. I covered the distorted honeycomb pattern around the base with a random shift pattern. If you look closely at the perspective and specular reflection you can see the surface is smooth and the depth of the chatoyant pattern is an illusion produced by the mica shift.
It didn't look very good right out of the oven but the pattern came out nicely with some wet sanding and polishing. If you try something like this remember it only looks really good after some additional treatment to bring out the transparency of the surface like sanding and polishing or a coating like Futureā¢. I had intended to cover the surface with polyester resin but it looks fine polished and isn't slippery.
The strap is made of nylon cord and knotted mostly with single tatted bar and some somon bar where you can't actually see it in the photos.
