Hey guys look at this fish I caught! :D It's a northern pike, 8 pounds and 32 inches long; the biggest fish I've ever caught! The coolest part about is that we drove out onto the lake, drilled a hole and set up our fish house, dropped the line into the water and instantaneously (like not even 30 seconds later) caught this huge monster. It was awesome!
Anyway I also thought this photo was pretty cool so I'm going to use it as my user ID for a bit. :D

This takes me back! I grew up in Minnesota (a bit South of the Twin Cities) and I spent a lot of the winters ice-fishing. Northern Pike, Crappies, you name it. Once I even caught an Eelpout (*ugh!*). Sometimes we used tip-ups (and sat inside the truck a little distance away), sometimes we sat on overturned buckets by the hole after riding out on snowmobiles, sometimes there was a fishing shack that we sat in. It was a widely varied experience from year to year, but it was a huge part of my childhood. I cannot thank you enough for bringing back all those memories by sharing this photo.
You should be proud for landing such a monster, and so quickly after setting your line! That's a damn fine catch!

Aww no problem! What great memories. It has actually been YEARS since I last went ice fishing, and I'm kind of sad it's been so long! Speaking of Eelpouts, I'm like 95% sure I caught one of those once when I left a line out overnight. Quite a weird fish to reel up, I was not expecting it. O.O! You should totally come back to MN and fish sometime! Catch your own big northern! :D Ah well, I'm glad my picture reminded you of all those fun times. ^.^
