I have a secret: I really want to make a toony cat fursuit. I'm talkin' goofy-ass Matrices, DHC, jillcostumes-style HELLA toony. Something made of lots of foam that I can jump around and roughhouse in. I got jealous of the fursuiters at the con that were all playin' with each other and wavin' at strangers...
I sketched out a toony cat face, then colored it a few ways to help decide what direction I want to go. I want to use luxury shag furs, as they are the least expensive and I don't want to risk wasting nice fur on my first project like this. Because of this, I have a limited (and very familiar) palate to work with. The calico is really cute, but I'm worried that calico is over used. So cute, though. The grey was a result of wanting to do a mask-and-mantle pattern, and I figured that grey/white would photograph better than black/white. The tabby is... alright. I'd really need a wolf fur for the colored parts in order to mimic the ticked coat, but I don't want to spend that much right now. (I actually swatched the PERFECT brown tabby fur a few months back. It's imstuffedfur's wolf fur, #2002. Gorgeous and soft. And expensive >_>). I dunno, can you do a real blocky tabby? I don't want to look like a tiger. The purple one I drew for fun. I don't want to do an unnatural color, because I feel it will take away from the cat-ness of my performance. What do you guys think?

Im pretty fond of the purple one but I like sureal colors. I know there is a blonde color in those shag fun furs so you could prolly do the yellowy one. The orange and black one might be hard to do with normal colors since the fox color of fake fur is rare and the orange in that shag fun fur is like crayola orange not really natural orange.
