They're both supposed to be talon-like, but the toes of the right one are spread on the ground and the toes on the left one are bunched together because they are resting on top of the right one. Hmm. I can't really justify it, because I totally see where you're coming from and you're right X) I'm sorry?
character design belongs to http://www.skarmorythepg.deviantart.com/ , but it was fun making this for him. He provided a cartoony, stylized griffin and wanted me to make it look more real. =)
