I went to my doctor a few weeks back for a blood test and the nurse asked me what meds I was on and scribbled them down. When the doctor came in to talk to me she squinted and peered at said scratches and could not make hide nor hair of them. When I joked with her about it she said that she taught the nurses to phonetically spell any strange medication names, which complicated reading further.
Yes I really said this, no she did not say this in reply but I don't like portraying Gen as one of those OMGAWESOME comic types who always get the last word in. Since my poor doctor was the butt of my joke, I felt she deserved her own final jab too. It's a personal rule of comics I have, if you can't make yourself the butt of the joke from time to time then you need to work on your sense of humor.

That gave me a good giggle~ Coming from a nursing diploma myself, with at least four months total of work experience in various hospitals, I find it quite a giggle when one medical person can't read the handwriting of another. XD
Minus points if its a nurse, like me or someone else, trying to read the doctor's orders for a patient, in which case it gets incredibly frustrating to decipher.

My doctor's ofice keeps all those records on computer, now. terminals in the patient rooms, they lock the screens down when they leave the room.
Now, I go to a specialist that don't do this, and keep crap on paper - fortunately, I almost always deal with the doctor herself, there. :)
