So many grumpy comments on Valentine's day, so I made
a little cheer-up sketch for those who hate that day. ;3
For the rest - hope you had a great day with your loved ones!
Remember to enjoy every day you have with them, not only on a certain day.

Nah someone had to say it, lmao.
I mean I don't usually celebrate it either but this year I did, and made stupid doodles for my friends.
The energy is much better spent doing good, even if you don't have a mate, instead of being a self martyr.
It's kind of silly to hate a day about 'love', even if you hate the commercialism, use it as a day to make sure the people you care about know they are important to you, even if it is in your own wacky way.
A friend made a journal pointing out how shallow these people are as well,
Are we supposed to expect people to stop celebrating mothers day and such just because some people no longer have mothers?

Firstly, people who hate Valentine's Day do not hate it because it's about a "day of love." People hate it because on that day the entirety society rubs it into the faces of singles that they have no romantic partner. Since most single people presumably want to have a partner, being forcefully reminded of their loneliness is not something they find very pleasant. Some people also hate it because of the commercialism or the absurdity of focusing on one day of the year to emphasize love when love should be emphasized all the time. But no one I've ever heard of hates Valentine's Day simply because it is about love.
Secondly, your Mother's Day analogy fails because everyone either has a mother or has had a mother at some point. Not everyone has or has had a romantic partner. Some may never have one.

I never said people hate it because it's a day of love, I said it was funny/ironic that people hated a day about love. I disagree with you about the whole.. single-shaming thing. Haha, think back to school where entire classes would get stupid valentines. PEOPLE are the ones that make it feel that way, if anything. And if people are making you feel that way, imo it's your own problem. That is not what the holiday is about, and of course the commercial side focuses on couples because you aren't going to go out and buy your friend a diamond ring for vday. I think everyone agrees that love should be shown year round but not everyone can go out of their way for all their loved ones all the time. Valentines is that one special day. I do not have a mate or a lover or what the hell ever, and I still feel loved by my friends, and I love them too. I do not have a family, just my friends, and I did my best to make them happy. In the past I didn't have many friends either and I STILL didn't hate valentines I just ignored it. XD
As for the mother thing, just knowing you popped out of a uterus does not mean you had a mother.
And you don't need a romantic partner to enjoy valentines day.

Kinda funny you say it was created just to make sales. Not sure if you know this - and I like learning new things so I hope you do too - [St.] Valentine's Day wasn't originally about love but rather a religious holiday created as a remembrance day for several martyred saints named Valentine that were executed on February 14th. This religious holiday was combined with an old pagan Roman holiday called Lupercalia that was celebrated from February 13th to February 15th in order to help convert the pagans to Christianity and was later muddied into a holiday celebrating love.
I thought that was kinda cool information and figured I'd share. *shrugs* Other than that, don't mind me.

It is, sadly. Just another "holiday" made up to make money off of. I mean it's like saying that you're suppose to love people one day out of the year. Seems pointless. You should love someone any time and any day. I don't hate the holiday. Just don't really like holidays made up just for money.
It's been around as long as all the other holidays. It's not saying you're supposed to love people one day out of the year lmao. That's pretty.. single minded thinking. If you only show love to your partner and nobody else though I can see why one would feel that way, but imo you should use the day to go out of your way for the other people you care about too. Nobody says you have to spend money to do that.
I do show everyone I love that I care for them year round, just valentines is a day for me to set everything I have going on aside and focus completely on them.

it was made to honor a saint (whose name sound similar to the holiday but i suck at spelling it) who got stoned helping out some loves experiencing some Juliet and Romeo like stuff.
But I can agree with you about the money aspect that has taken. Seems knowing the meaning of the holidays is loosing its hold.

If half the people who made such a big deal about it fussing and complaing put that much energy into something more pointfull maybe they would have some one its so tieing to hear all the complaing from people over such things mostly cause they wont even try to put any effort Into bettering them selfs or maken life improvements they just rather have a pitty party >.< . As for the art its very silly and cute orange fox approved ! Hehe
If you have someone to be with, every day can be like Valentine's Day. If you don't, a holiday like February 14th shouldn't shake you to your core and make you upset. You could do something about it instead of being miserable and making others miserable around you. Entering into the holiday and making someone ELSE smile can make you feel good, too!
One Valentine's day when I was single I went and bought some lovely carnations at the grocery store and brought one to a bank teller, a fast food drive up person, a homeless person, a person at the front desk of the library, a waitress or two, and a cashier. What a difference one flower made in their day!

Wow that was so amazingly kind of you! Little acts of kindness like that can make the world of difference to someone feeling in the dumps. I was feeling cruddy at work and a random customer gave me a bag if Hershey's kisses and a happy valentines and it completely lifted my spirits up!
If only more folks took a proactive, positive approach like you did, we'd have a much cheerful world :)

I used to enjoy the holiday for the multitudes of stuffed animals at the grocery store and the mountains of chocolate in the candy aisle.
I got a mate two years ago (next week marks two years!), and it has become so much more for me. :3 But I still love your drawing. XD There is always a huge overload of hearts and the color pink everywhere you go this time of year. But it's okay. Soon everyone will be seeing pastel colors and eggs and candy and bunnies!

This is awesome! I'm not super romantic or lovey so I kinda get a little nauseous with all the love being crammed down my throat but it's still nice to see people spreading the love - though I wish they'd do it all year round and not get it all in on a single day. Heh. Anyway, whatever you want to call it [e.g. Love Day, V-Day, Valentines, Single Awareness Day] it's a holiday where a lot of people miss the point that it's not about the gifts - which gifts are always awesome - but about the people you care about. That said, thanks for sharing this adorable piece and I'm glad there are a bunch of others who believe we should be letting everyone we care about know it - not just on one day or just one specific person.
This is so much me x3
but i'm not really mad at all that people who have the luck to be loved...its just kinda...a little bi of envy. If you see so many happy people, it makes you feel more lonely, because you where reminded of what you don't have and what you really wish for.
and yeah, sometimes i find couples are a bit annoying because of their cheesy acting, but well, its okay because they are juts happy ;3
ugly jelly hyena ;3
