anyway, to be serious, no.
the smudge tool is more trouble than it's worth.
as far as "clicking," it's not actual clicking so much as it's penstrokes.
hold down alt, poke pen to colour, then stroke.
it's a very fast process and produces a nice painterly, textured look, like you said which....

I, PERSONALLY, found the smudge tool to be more pain than to just paint in my own blending. But I do know other people who love it and use it fairly well too! That being said, I will give this method a try! At least to practice other things and have fun with painting! Thank you Stormy! I do appreciate you posting this! : }
