They wanted something with the feel of the song 'All Time High' with themes of Dr who.
I recalled the scene where River Song escapes that ship in the angels episode and I though that this had to be it. I mean, What better high than floating through SPACE into a TARDIS and landing square ontop of the Doctor? haha
