Nah, I don't hate. If all goes well at some point I get to be an Ammo Tech or Weapons Tech so I'll get my turn at that point to play with the everything.

Well my 3rd choice filled up some time ago. First and second are still working through selection but is on hold till the new budget. Beyond that they just keep telling me my application is 'top drawer' on the merit list but its been bout a year and some now

well if you are on the merit list you are 99% in IMO. the new fiscal year starts april 1st. we are already starting to feel the effects of the budget coming to a close for this year big time but its normal. expect a call mid march early april if you are on the merit list though. thats how it worked for me (applied aug, testing and interviews oct, merit list dec, no contact til mid april way back when)

I hate how everyone thinks suppressors make guns go ps ps. But really all they do is take the crack out of a rifle firing, just about the same volume just minus that crack you get when firing a rifle. They are also as you said heavy as fuck because of the way it works. I hope you know how a suppressors works right? I was thinking about it and have decided I want to join the military most likely marine core. What exactly is what you do called? I know you are like a mechanic considering you work on so many vehicles.

i am a vehicle technician, I work on anything from snowblowers up to the Leopard main battle tank pretty much (depends on where I get posted) yeah dont worry, i know how suppressors work, I am a gun nut after all, and have been a hunter since as long as I know.

Hey I just go my first full sized rifle yesterday. Its an Arisaka type 99 bolt action rifle, used during WWII by the japs, it was the Mauser of the Pacific according to some soldiers.

nice!, i had a sporterized 303 brit i bought off a friend for 50 bucks a few years back, just sold it to a buddy for 150. I would like to get another one in the future but non sportered, no 4 mk1 action. nice gun for sure.

I got mine for free, grandparents said if I could find all the parts I could have it, which of course I did. Problem with the 99 is if you are familiar with it then you would know if it was from the late war it will explode if you try to shoot it.

lol oh fun. nice to get things like that passed down for sure. I am looking forward to when I can get some guns my dad and grandpa have used for hunting, nothing too special but one i have my eye on is a 300 savage model 99 lever action. I am actually trying to find one for sale in .308 cal but they are not too common

Interesting. I have been dieing to get my hands on my grandfather's 1875 Swish .50 cal bolt-action rifle. Nothing can beat that rifle on the bad ass scale and still be legal.

if there is one thing i wanna at least try, its to shoot a 50 cal just once

I need to track down some .50 cal for this gun and a firing pin then I can try a go with a .50 cal rifle. Its turning out to be rather hard to track down the firing pin for a rifle from switzerland first of all and second the rifle is well over 100 years old! :P
