I totally agree! I completely get why people didn't like the movie, but it's just such a fun movie to me. Many people didn't like the love story, but it gave me loads of feels, so I loved it.
I always say: See it rather then listen to opinions. This is how I feel because so many movies I've loved have had such bad reviews, and if I listened to them, I would never have found something I loved so much. Asking is totally fine, just make sure you decide for yourself in the end!
So, what did I think? The first time I saw it, I felt disappointed. I wasn't able to pin point why, but I was heavily excited for the movie and didn't like it as much as I thought. However, I gave it another chance and liked it much more the the next time. There's loads I love from the movie, for one the animation is top notch and I can't believe her hair. I find the movie inspiring. Not because of the story, it's more about the music, the forest, the scenes of her ridding her horse. Something about it makes you want to do that too.
All in all, I loved it, but did need to give it a second chance. Merida is awesome though.

If you ask me, one main aspect I liked of the movie was that it felt like there was no set main character. It'd always be flipping inbetween and I just loved that! As for the love story, I feel it wasn't even such a big impact on it. There was plenty of goofy stuff inbetween to split things up. I found Mavis just absolutely adorable.
I've heard many mixed opinions/review on Brave so I haven't known what to think. The rest of my family has seen it(Decides to watch it on the night I'm studying for a big test.) and the kids liked it, so did my mother, yet apparently my stepdad wasn't a fan of it. From the trailers and commercials I saw of it, I thought the animation looked simply gorgeous. I'll have to give it a watch!
