Mmm if you'll look at the submission info, this particular piece wasn't done with colored pencils at all! It was done with acrylic paints, which are much easier to manipulate in this fashion as you can paint them in layers

My first thought was that she was somehow wearing the dressmaker's manikin or that the seamstress had animated the manikin..

It's actually a dress from Georges Chakra Spring 2010 collection only a little less pink... SO it's already been on the runway!! :D
Your illustrations are exquisite! They have a professional appeal (and I know you are a professional illustrator) with the positioning of the characters and the layout of the bg as well as the little details and touches that make it delightful to look at. You are a phenomenal artist.

Something like this under my current rates is $530 plus s/h (2 characters, detailed background, size upgrade to 11"x14"). My detailed background pieces keep taking me longer and longer, though - so I may be raising my prices soon on the background/size upgrade options.

And for everyone commenting about the "waffle dress," it actually exists in real life! "Waffle dress" came from the Georges Chakra Spring 2010 collection and was seen wearing by Jennifer Lopez and Blake Lively... although in my probably extremely biased opinion, I honestly think Icee wears it best :P
