Continuing my latest 'sweeps month' (February, 2013), here is another in a series of 'photo-ops' of celebrities and other unique personalities...

I visited an animation art gallery on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where a legendary cartoonist/animator was celebrating his 97th birthday!
Myron Waldman had been working on theatrical cartoons from the early 1930s until the late 1960s. Among his credits were his work with Max and Dave Fleischer - including shorts with 'Koko the Klown', 'Betty Boop', 'Popeye', and 'Superman' - at Paramount Pictures. In later years, he'd worked at Paramount's Famous Studios division, on cartoons with such characters as 'Casper, the Friendly Ghost', 'Herman and Katnip', and 'Baby Huey'.
Anyway, in attendance for Myron's birthday was voice actor Sid Raymond, who was the subject of a previously posted 'photo-op' - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5767774/ - and who was featured in a number of shorts that Waldman had animated.
Sadly, his 97th birthday turned out to be his last one; Waldman passed away on February 4, 2006.
You can find out more about Myron Waldman by going to Wikipedia, or if you prefer a 'hard copy' reference work, I'd recommend "Of Mice and Magic: A History of American Animated Cartoons" by Leonard Maltin.
