Well… no reason to be modest now: This is most likely one of my very best pencil drawings, when it comes to “anthros” and especially “furries”!
And my goal hasn’t been small: I wanted to create the very BEST version of “FurvusWolf” ever! Yes! Also, I wasn’t really happy with… my first version of his character. Sorry, this wasn’t really a good artwork. But I hope, this one here will make up for it!
And why did it work so well? See, dark fur is quite easy to draw, shade and highlight. And Furvus’ fur is grey (dark grey). It worked pretty well and… I grow with every new “anthro muscle furry” I draw. :3
Okay, enough talk. Here I present “Furvus” to you – the big muscle wolf!

I love this design and especially the great clip and opening at the back, so that a large tail fits through. This is highly original and believable!
Oh, and this artwork shows 50% of the original size. No small artworks this time - enjoy this large version! :3

Let's see.
The Good:
Most of the muscles appear to be in the right place. And are not overblown.
The limbs fit together properly.
That tail is fitted to the base of the spine correctly - kinda rare to see that.
If it's single light source like I suspect then all the shadows are in the right places.
The Not-So Good:
Something looks off with those shoulder muscles. Could you explain why?
Overall:
With just three pencils, one sheet of A4 - and possibly a sharpener - you did this? Now that is an achievement!

Hi, thanks for the comment! ^__^
Nice to see that you've tried to focus on "positive" and "negative" aspects.
I'm glad you like the "not too overblown" aspect. After all, I don't draw TOO big muscles, either! But when you say "most of the muscles", I can't really follow your argument... which muscles would NOT be in the right place, due to your own experience or knnowledge?
About the tail, yes... it's really important to me that it's not just "coming out of the ass"!! XD
The shading is correct, I've used a human model here.
About the shoulder muscles:

This was one of my reference photos. What's wrong in your opinion?? What looks "off"?
In the end... yeah, I've used my sharpener quite often and need to get NEW pencils now!!!! XD
THANKS again!

*Gasps* My goodness RC...you were not kidding when you told me that you wished to create the best Furvus Wolf artwork ever :) This is without doubt the best depiction of the big wolf in artwork to date to me...with all due respect to all of the wonderful Furvus artwork that had been done prior to this. You really captured Furvus down so very well and the detail is stunning as always with your great pencil works :) Even DJ may have trouble topping this should he depict Furvus in the future with one of his amazing works ;) Oh, now that's a challenge Darkfox bro ;) I'm kidding, I'm kidding...but, RC thanks just does not say enough for this great artwork gift. It means a great deal to me for sure and I love this artwork so very much :) I will print it out and frame it and put it someplace where I can always see it while working on my Furvus stories and motivate me to keep creating :) The shading and muscle and fur all blend in so nice and it is stunning, the detail is just stunning! Yes, you've also captured the big wolf's confidence in this also with how solid he performs this pose and the look on his muzzle. He's good muscle fur bros, such as DJ, taught him to be confident in himself and not be afraid to show it off...it has paid off and Furvus can dawn a Speedo posing suit well ;) As for the suit...that is a very cool concept and DJ does think of everything as it comes to muscle furs...no detail is left out ;) Again, a stunning depiction of Furvus for sure RC :)
I did forget to meantion this also...but, another thing that I love about this artwork is that you captured Furvus' build as he'd not only big in muscle, but lean also and has that great blend of this in building the body that he has...perfect for pro bodybuilding competitions and also to show off for his good muscle fur bros' enjoyment also ;)
Hello, buddy!
I've just read the VERY large and also very sweet DA-comment... which is NOT just a "copy-paste-text"! Wow, thanks for taking your time to write this down. ^_^
After all, YOUR comment is MOST important to me... it is YOUR artwork, after all.
When I saw this one
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9599538/
I wanted to work with the "posing on the bodybuilding stage" concept and so... I did. ^^"
This may not be THE best artwork of him... but I tried my best to play in the upper ranks, hehehehe. Glad you think so, too!
Oh, and... DJ will do JUST fine! ;) This here is NO coloured artwork, after all.
About "printing and framing" it:
Like I said, I'm willing to send you the ORIGINAL PENCIL DRAWING per mail. ^______^ THIS is much more valuable and... worth framing.
About the last aspect:
Yes... this is 100% BODYBUILDING POSER! :D Just like good old Furvus has to be!

hehe, yes the big wold does enjoy showing off :) Thank you so much and I noted you with my address. I shall frame it and take a picture of it and post on FA once I do so :)
Yes, that was indeed a very good ref used for this artwork. I love how Ashy depicted Furvus in the works that she's done and they are some of my most favorite depictions on the big wolf to date also...and a certain powerfox told me that DJ helped out a bit in the process of those also with some guidance :)
DJ does indeed do an amazing job with his colored artwork and one of the things that I marvel on what he's done and what you've done with the DJ and Dai and DJ with Reptile and now Furvus pencil artworks is the amount of fine detail in it. I'm sure it must be hard enough to draw muscle and the human form, but to do so with fur and muscle and to blend it all as well as you guys do is just amazing to me...it really is. Heck, it's hard enought to write on this with my stories, hehe ;) You indeed have a great eye for this and also for what you do with your other colored works :)
hehe, and yes I know that I've left some long comments, but the artwork meant a lot to me and I wished to point out as much as I could about it :)

True true, this is indeed one of your best pencil work you ever made, not only because the character is complete from the head to the feets, because this was a perfect selection for Furfuswolf´s character. He´s just as he looks there, grey fur and black hair. He doesn´t need any other technique to be drawn like that, and as I told you a time ago, your pencil skills hasa really special touch with the hair and fur textures, and this is the perfect timing to apply that advantage of him.
Also, good choice for the pose, because as a bodybuilder, all his muscles are well defined and you decided to draw the back side to show more than the other pics didn´t showed yet, now you really cover what was left for making a complete ref of his character XD
But really well done with the anatomy of the back, the proportion, the textures that defin the shape and the shading too, really astonishing man, really. And the legs´anatomy were also really good, I always tried to find a clear referent of that part, is not very easy to find the proper one for that. Great domination with the anatomy to the whole body ^ ^
I can see that you´re satisfied now ^ ^ You manage to success your desire of making a better version of Furvus, and with a different technique, that´s more effective and the results are way too powerful ^ ^ But hey, there´s no need to feel bad with the first try. First at all, as you mentioned, you´re not very deep into furry characters, which is still impressive with all the results that you´ve made with them so far, and also is a first try with a character, so it´s really common to feel that it wasn´t enough once you see and compare with others XD With my case, I´m satisfies with the sketch I made for him in the commission, unfortunately I couldn´t made more than that XD and I´m pretty sure that I could´ve made something more detailed, plus, that kind of head design is something new to me as you can see, now that I made my first try, I really want to give another try and make a better version of this one ^ ^
Anyway, maybe I should stop because I didn´t notice the quantity of words that I wrote here XD This was a great surprise man, congratulations! Oh and one last thing. No matter if it´s a scaly or a furry guy, I can always see the same eyes and grin as you use to make on the gifts, also in your very own characters XD which is good because it´s your personal mark, everyone has a personal mark XD But you know, there´s something that I notice at your gifts. Don´t take the wrong idea XD but I can see that I feel the same message that the characters are saying in their facial expressions, an expression of "I´m sexy" or "I know, I feel good" and stuff like that. What I´m saying is that maybe you should be more open and try more expressions that express more feeling of different kind, otherwise, I can see the same face on different bodies ^ ^º Is just an idea and an impression that I god with them, I hope you understand it XD

Hi, dear friend!
Once again, thanks a lot for the large, eleborate comment!! *hugs*
Well, now I understand why people love MY large comments so much, too. XD
Glad you like the result (AND even faved this artwork!). I really tried my best and... yeah, the character was rather simple and less detailed. BUT the fur really IS detailed and... as you've mentioned, I wanted some other pose than just the typical front views. Indeed, the back view was a nice change.
About "furry" characters... yes, I AM able to draw "fur texture" quite well, but I just feel more COMFORTABLE when it comes to "scalies". And my very own preferences are scaled creatures, too. BUT that does not mean that I could not like these furry ones, either. I guess... I like all of them. Just... I like dragons more! XD
Don't be shy or sad about YOUR sketch of Furvus (and the other guy). You've done a good job, too - like I wrote in my comment earlier.
We just do things differently... this doesn't mean that your works are "less good"!
NO WAY!!!
AND it's cool that you recognize my own style/trademark and feeling... yes, I agree. All my characters look... like... well, yeah... drawn by ME! XD
I put the same feeling and character into each and every new "creature".
THANKS again for the nice comment, that's really appreciated!
P.S.:
ABOUT our COLLAB... I didn't forget it, I just wanted THIS pencil artwork to be done earlier. ^^"
Furthermore, I have some other things on my list with... a more "urgent" call. But don't worry - we shall do it this way (like we talked about): I will draw your ORION (sketch) first and note you then. And THEN, we can discuss any further steps, okay?
I think that we will be able to bring this project to life... in the beginning/middle of March! Right now, I have some other things on my mind... ^^"

Well what do you expected, form a great work it always deserve a complete anc detailed comment, that´s my nature afterall when we talk about illustration, cartoon and everything realted with art. I just love it, I love your style and I like you XD, what else can I say? Heheh
Indeed, that pose really hit the spot for more exhibiton in areas that Furvus hasn´t showed yet. And I know that you like more scaly creatures than furries. But hey, you´re really good with it, and it´s amazing what you do. Sometimes I even wonder how would you draw a Lion, father of a furry character XD That would made my day and I would see everything from you hahah XD
Don't worry, I don´t feel bad with the sketch that I made of Furvus, it IS a sketch afterall XD it couldn´t compete against an original pencil style XD I like what I made and that makes me more confident to improve more for the next time that I draw him. That´s how progress works afterall ;D
And for last, don´t worry, Patrick XD I´m not having doubts of out collab ^ ^º You know that I´m a patient person, I can wait whenever you´re ready XD Just take the time you need to do, the pics that you think that you can make them quick, do them first, I can be the last onf of your list if you want, I don´t mind XD. The idea for the development looks good. We can start it once you send that note ;D
You´re very welcome man, thanks for the reply and glad that you´re all happy with the result ^ ^ *quick hug* Until then!
P.S.:
As for your other reply. It´s just an idea in general, but it´s also the truth, all those characters that you drawn back there are people who have that idea of being "sexy" and all of it. We´re in FA afterall, hardcore of that concept XD But that´s the thing, it´s very repetitive ^ ^º Even those kind of people can show more expressions. But these are the list of the expression that I think I haven´t seen and I would be amazed to see with your style: Shy, sadic, confuse, naughty, and love. Perhaps I have missed on of those expressions in an old pic, but well, you know what I mean. Just some ideas that you might take in count for future work ^ ^

So far, the artworks "Bauchkrauler" and "Here comes the wave" do show very different facial expressions!!
Go, check it out, will ya?
BUT you know... I am (!) capable of plenty, strong facial expressions. I had years of practise in my comics! But these posers here... usually show proud, confident characters! XD

Oh, and your suggestions is noted.
Yes, so far, most of my characters have this "I'm sexy and I know it" expression. XD So far, it worked - 'cause that's how these characters are!!!
But sure, in the future, some characters should even look... excited (in a different way than before) or maybe... even annoyed or angry.
Or brutal... maybe.
