i wanted to dig a little deeper into Star's past so that everpony could get to know him a little better

Before he ended up in ponyville, Star was one of many young ponies taken from there home's by the power hungry tyrant King Bloodwing & raised to fight in his war against the dragons, when it was found out that Star's best "& only" friend was a female dragon by the name on Moon Chaser he was banished, upon his banishment Star was was dragged deep into a wasteland where his wings & horn were broken so that he would have no way to survive...& it would have worked if Moon Chaser had not found him & the two left the warring land behind them forever

"it was also because his wings broken that they are so large now as when Fluttershy & Twilight found them Twilight tried to use her magic to fix them, making them bigger & stronger than before"
