It's a replacement idea to the bar code that's been around for a few years. But, has only recently caught on in the industry, thanks to the ever advancing capacities of technology, including the built in micro cameras. By having the triangulated marks of the three corner squares, the software can read the black/white marking to turn it into binary data, with which to process zeros and ones into stuff like an http line, data for a simple picture, text or more. Especially useful to the SmartPhone crowd.
