Hello there. You know, I experience a lot of problems every time I try to put some colours in my drawings. A couple of wrong moves and I'm in trouble, cause crayon strokes aren't easily erased and if try to hard, I can just damage the paper. The only way I've found to negate this issue is practice: the more you do something, the less mistakes you make in process, right? So here's some coloured quick drawings.
Now I'd like to know what do you think of it? Perhaps you're able to see some mistakes that I can't, so just point them out. I appreciate criticism in art... and my english language :)

Well, as for the drawing it's good, although there's a lack of shading that makes them look flat !
However there's some work to put on the coloring. It's too monochrome. It's much harder than you may think at first to go from black & white to colored.
For example on your first fox drawing, you could have put some yellow, orange, brown and even blue to render the various shades of the fur. You should try to work from a photograph at first to learn how to distinguish the various shades, that's the best to do.
Good work though!

Hmm, I did use photoes as a reference to draw those headshots, just changed facial expressions a bit, and what you see is the result of my efforts.
Speaking of monochrome, yes, that's my problem, I still use standart graphite pencil for shading and that gives the flat look I so badly want to get rid of. I guess I'll just try to draw colours only without outlines and see what I can get with that.
Thanks for the tips, they'll be of use.
