Another shot of me in my Liger Zero Cosplay at Otakon 2009. I actually had no clue someone took a picture of me like this, I was in midtransition to another pose. LigerZeroLindsey was actually the one responsible for finding this picture of me floating around on the net and linking me to it. XD She thought it was really amusing and it is! I do seriously look like I'm stumbling around drunk though. Which is definately not the case since I was only 18 at this convention. I cropped the original image and tried some editting in photoshop to make myself stand out seeing as the area I was in was flooded with natural light and having a white cosplay....yeah I kinda blended in so I tried some editing. It didn't turn out too badly I hope. The settings on my laptop are a little weird.

Ever since Google bought out Youtube they've removed all the Zoids episodes from there. Plenty of sites I use to rewatch the show on have gone down over time. The best thing I can say to do is use google search or bing and search 'watch zoids anime' you'll come up with something eventually. The last site I used to watch the show went down and I'm currently searching for a new one.
You should check out LigerZeroLindsey...she was the second Liger cosplay, I was the first. I actually did months worth of research and found that at the time this cosplay was started in late 2007 and finished June 2008, NO ONE had done a Zoids cosplay! Mecha is a hard enough cosplay to do in the first place and the old cardboard method people use for Gundams doesn't work that well with Zoids since they have more elaborate shapes and armor. When I showed up at Otakon in 2008 I could not even get out of the parking garage people were swarming me because they'd never seen a Zoid cosplay before. It was awesome! I had been so worried people would confuse me with a Transformer but they new right away that I was a Zoid and exactly which Zoid I was. I was mobbed for an hour outside the convention center by people and I only managed to get inside and get my badge when someone said about going inside and I said I hadn't even been able to get in and get my badge yet. XD That prompted a guard of about twenty people escorting the Liger up to the main registration area XD I couldn't move two feet without people running up to me. People I drew such swarms of people the next year a new rule had been added to the convention book which was about not clogging up the walkways for taking photos and finding somewhere more appropriate to photograph a cosplayer XD.
Sorry I rambled, its just...that is the absolute best memories I have of any con.
And no worries you're not being a questionaholic.
Sadly I don't wear Liger out that much if at all. He is very fragile and the head affords very little in the way of vision unless I lift it up some to look out of the mouth. When I wear him I become twice the amount of high maintance when compared to the average fursuiter. I don't want to be a burden on my friends and prevent them from being able to enjoy the cons/outsings so I don't use him much anymore. I would love to remake him so I can have better vision out the head and redo the armor so its less fragile. I thought of two different methods but they are rather pricey, especially the one. I decided to instead focus on making my actualy fursona suit before redoing Liger. I had actually started on another Zoid cosplay...the fuzor Liger Zero Phoenix. but never finished him. I was forced to stop because of money and then I had some major health issues for awhile, then back to money, then more health and family issues....basically real life prevented me from being able to do anything cosplay from 2009. I did go to Otakon in 2010 but I didnt have any new cosplays. I did go to Anthrocon last year, my first time. That was only made possible by my real life friends who paid for it for me of which I will never be able to thank them enough for or repay them for.
And yes he is predominately made out of foam, foamboard and funfoam.

No no, you weren't rambling, I love hearing a story like that. That's wonderful. I would of been ecstatic to have swarms of people so interested and awed by my creation. I probably would of been on of that swarm, but sadly I only recently started going to a con, being Midwest Furfest since I'm still stuck in the general area.
I'm still a learning fursuit creator myself, only on my second head, and I know what you mean by being double the maintenance from teh average fursuiter. My first fursuit was too big in the head, had extremely poor vision( I ran into a door during the parade if that tells you anything) and it's hard to breath with the foam encasing my head. My friend didn't get to have any fun the first year we went becasue I was being so needy and I felt awful. Now though with my second head I've made sure to make it easier to see and breath. Anyways, getting off my tangent, I had been planning to make a predator costume perhaps this year if I got the umph to attempt it but now you've given me the drive to want to make a liger zero of some sort. I'd love to see a quad of liger zero, that would be amazing.
It's upsetting how real life gets in teh way of things that we enjoy doing... I can't wait ot see the new liger if you ever do get the chance to finish him. :) about how much did your first liger cost?

The foam which makes up Liger's head is built ontop of a mesh cage so I didn't have any trouble breathing or being overheated which was a plus.
>< Smacking into a door? Oh man that is not good at all! I hope you didn't get hurt too badly!
Actually if you poke around on Deviantart there is actually someone who already made a Quad Liger Zero and there is someone else who made a Quad Liger Zero Panzer!
The first Liger? Taking into account the coupons for foam and for the under-armor and I got the boots at goodwill....he costed around 200 dollars when you take into account the glue sticks and how many times I messed up making a piece of armor. He was the lowest costing suit. My fursona is gonna run probably close to 800 dollars. More like 1000 though considering what I am gonna have to do for her mane. My sona is a creature called a Psychoraptor. I'll be uploading pictures of her soon enough.

Ah, psychoraptors, I know of them :D Known about those guys for quite a long time actually now, never drew any fanart for it, but I enjoyed the stories and artwork I did see. Mine is only costing me about 100 or so in all honesty because the fur is the only thing i had to buy. I found a giant roll of foam one day, and everything else is stuff eithe relft over from my last suit or craft stuff lying around the house. Then again, this is only for the head mind you, the rest I'll figure out later haha.
Yes, I ran into a glass door. If didn't hurt, just thoroughly surprised me because I thought I woudl make it thought the open door easily, but clearly that wasn't the case.
I'll have to do that tonight... -stalks DA-
That's good with the breathing though, I haven't figured out how to make a mesh cage yet, but I will eventually. Everything takes time and learning I suppose.

I've been part of the Psychoraptor fandom since 2007.^^ The day I discovered them thats the day I knew instantly...the day I finally had a 'physical' manifestation of the up until that point..'chimera' for lack of a better word of a fursona I had in my head. If you cross a raptor, wolf, and dragon...you pretty much get a Psychoraptor. I couldn't even tell you how happy that made me to stumble across that species and Freakzter.^^
Heads are usually the most expensive part of the suit unless you have a character with extremely elaborate body markings. That'll drive up the cost right there. Thankfully for me, my sona is black in color for the most part, her tail is silver/gray and she has red in her mane and the feathers on the end of her tail. I tend not to have brightly colored characters, or brightly patterned. I do have one male character who has rather elaborate tattoos cover the entire top half of his body and one of my other female characters is covered in battle scars but thats about it.
Well thats good, at least you were just startled.^^
Actually there was a tutorial which was used to make my Liger head. It's rather old and outdated now but it might be able to give you a general idea....now I just need to find what I did with that link....

That is true. That is one cross of a creature. I've been developing my own fursona and she's got a mix of all teh qualities of a psychoraptor, plus a snow leopard. She's more sno leopard and wolf than anything, but the raptor shows up in her lower legs and feet while the dragon shows up in her wings and the little horns atop her head. Freakzter is a pretty understanding creator too :) They allow so many varieties of the psychoraptor. I know of other creators of creatures that get all angry if you don't do it exactly right.
Sounds nice :3 I can't wait to see whenever you get that suit finished up or made.
Ooh, that'd be nice to see :3
