When watching "The Lion King" or listening to the songs of TLK 1+2 I like to imagine what the movie would like to be when the roles of the lions and hyenas get changed.
I wanted to picture the idea and took a screenshot of a scene in TLK 2 where Simba sings to Kiara and changed the two into a hyena mother and her child.
For some reason I always liked most of the songs in TLK 2 way better than the songs in TLK 1 (except "Be prepared") and the song "We are one" is one of my favorites.
The shading is done with the marker tool in SAI only. I'm quite happy with the outcome =)
Oh and spotted hyenas get born with a complete dark brown fur. It slowly changes into the typical colored spotted coat when they grow older, beginning with their face.

Naww that doesn't sound dumb at all!
I still use to listen to songs that remind me of my childhood too, when I'm sad or feeling lonely. I also watch those movies, I enjoyed as a kid for the same reason.
I know what it means to find some kind of consolatory in things like that, when life's being an ass *hugs*

Ja! D= Das hab ich mir am Ende auch gedacht. Ich hab bei der Flatcolo extra drauf geachtet andere Farben zu nehmen, damit es eben NICHT nach mir aussieht, aber durch's Shading wurde sie mir dann immer ähnlicher.
Die Schwanzspitze sollte schwarz sein, das Bauchfell extra eher cremefarben und die Ohren hellgrau... ist irgendwie verloren gegangen. Aber sie hat kleine Pünktchen unter den Augen, die Augen sind auch nicht blau und die Pfoten sind nicht weiß! Aber auf den ersten Blick sieht sie wirklich aus wie ich xD
Danke! Ich hab diesmal ausschließlich den Marker in SAI benutzt. Bei dem Ast war's natürlich einfach, weil ich mich direkt an dem Screenshot orientiert hab, den ich gemacht hatte. Ich hab versucht die Colo zu imitieren, indem ich meherere Ebenen gemacht hab und genau geschaut hab, wie die Farben im Film verlaufen. Eigentlich hab ich dann nur drauflos geschmiert und erst aufgehört, bis es so einigermaßen nah an das Vorbild heran kam.
Der Marker reagiert auf Druck. Das mag ich. Wenn man mehrmals drüber geht oder fester aufdrückt, gibt er mehr Farbe ab. Das gibt einem so ein bisschen das Gefühl, man würde traditionell zeichnen und damit kann ich besser umgehen, als mit den meisten anderen digitalen Werkzeugen.
Ja, wie oben geschrieben, geht's mir da ähnlich. "Be prepared" fand ich halt aus dem alten Film immer schon geil. Nicht nur wegen Scar und den Hyänen, sondern weil ich die düstere Atmosphäre auch mag :D
Aber ich mag in TLK 2 schon das Openinglied viel lieber, als "Circle of Life" und was ich ganz besonders grauenhaft finde ist "Hakuna Matata", aber ich kann Timon auch nicht leiden. Könnte daran liegen *g*

Well aren't those two just the cutest. I love your idea here! Proving that hyenas do too have a place in the circle of life, and that it's not just a dastardly one. I too wish the hyenas of TLK had gotten a better rap. Though Ed, Shenzi and Banzai were hilarious just as they were, gotta say. "Be Prepared" is an amazing song.
If I may ask, would the pup be your own? Or do they exist solely as the hyaenoid representation of Simba? I guess I'm asking here if you have children, or have ever considered having them?
