There are seven different squadrons at Luke AFB, Arizona (used to be nine). This BLK 50 Plus F-16D belongs to the 425TH Black Widows. The jet is configured for the air-to-ground season; basically for a few months, pilots will undergo simulated training which involves conducting bombing run against crucial targets provided the pilot isn't shot down first. As a former weapons crew chief, I can tell you that bombing season consists of loading lots of practice bombs and gun system ammo, as well as cleaning suspension equipment parts when the aircraft return.

It's a lot of work and long hours for each shift, but it's part of the overall goal of getting the pilots ready for the real thing!
